# Payment terms & deadlines

The standard payment term for purchase invoices and invoices as well as credit invoices and the standard validity period of estimates can be set under *Settings > Finance* defined:

#### Settings on the customer account

For certain customer accounts you can change default payment terms for invoices and the default validity period of estimates so that the corresponding defaults are applied to new documents in jobs of that customer account.

The setting can be adjusted in the customer account in the tab *Settings > Deadlines* adjusted:

#### Settings on the creditor and debtor

If nothing is stored on the creditor or debtor, the default value from the customer account is used for a new document. If nothing is defined there either, the company-wide default value is used.

Debtors can be managed via *Finance > Open Items > Debtors* in the tab *Debtor Contacts* and creditors via *Finance > Open Items > Creditors* in the tab *Creditor Contacts* be edited. The field may be left empty, in which case the respective default value from the customer account or from the company is used.
