Revenue categories

What are revenue categories?

Revenue categories are not tied to jobs and can be used in line items of estimates or invoices. A line item can belong to one or more revenue categories.

Examples of revenue categories Design studio, online shop, photo studio, Team Berlin, Team Munich.

Renaming cost categories

When categories are renamed, this also applies retroactively to all line items assigned to that category.

Why revenue categories?

Categorized revenue can be analyzed statistically under Reports > Revenue Categories. This makes it possible, for example, to determine which revenue was generated in a period by Team Munich or the Design studio.

Revenue category analysis

Percentage default setting

When a new revenue category is created, 100% is usually proposed as the default share.

It is also possible to define a different value — e.g. 20% — as the default share of a category.

For example, a concealed handling fee on an invoice line item could always be recorded in the respective category with only 20% of the net amount of the line item.
